Dr. Asif M Kadri is Consultant Diabetologist at Ittefaq Hospital (Trust) , where he heads the Diabetic and Footcare Center. He offers his services at Chughtai Medical Center also in the evening. Diabetes, Foot-care ,Sexual Dysfunction and Human Nutrition are the major areas of his interest.

He graduated from Allama Iqbal Medical College Lahore Pakistan, acquired his Memebership of the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Pakistan and his Diploma in Diabetes Management (DDM) from Baqai Medical University. He completed his Diploma in Diabetes from Diabetes UK, and his refresher certificate from Weil Cornell Medical College Qatar.

His research into nutrition for Diabetes and sexual dysfunction is widely acknwledged

He is the founder president of Diabetes Foundation, which is a “Not for Profit” social welfare organization, working for improvement of diabetes care in general, but focusing especially on health education of people with Diabetes in Pakistan.

He speaks regularly on various aspects of Diabetic care in national and international scientific forums, and is currently involved in several research projects also.

Dr. Kadri has written many books and pamphlets for the health education of people with Diabetes, and most of these works have been distributed free of cost in large numbers. Majority of his work is available as free downloads on this website.

He appears regularly on radio and television, but his appearances as a diabetes physician are totally focused on patient education. He has also presented a weekly radio program on various dimensions of Punjabi Language Art and Culture from FM 95 Punjab Rung for two years in 2010-11. He is also well known in literary and art circles, and writes very regularly for newspapers and magazines on social, political and literary topics in English, Punjabi and Urdu. He represented Government of the Punjab in the International Punjabi Conference at Patiala in 2004. His artistic pursuits are not however limited to writing alone. He has profound interest in other visual and performing arts as well.
